BioThane® is the brand name of all coated webbing products made by BioThane Coated Webbing Corp. It’s a polyester webbing with a TPU or PVC coating that makes it durable, waterproof, odor-proof and easy to clean.

We use Super Heavy Duty BioThane® which has an additional layer of coating over Standard BioThane® for extra durability from wear and tear. BioThane® can be used in all weather conditions and is suitable for dogs of all sizes and breeds!

BioThane® is not bite-proof so please supervise your dogs when using our products.

We offer three types of hardware: solid brass, stainless steel and black. Solid brass and stainless steel are the most durable options, with stainless steel being a touch more rust/corrosion resistant than solid brass. The only exception is that our quick-release collars are brass or nickel-plated for weight.

Black hardware will show wear and tear faster than our solid brass or stainless steel options as it is coated, but the hardware itself will remain durable.

All our hardware is sourced right here in Canada! This allows us to have better control over the quality of hardware we use.

In addition to selecting hardware of high-quality and durability, we also create our pieces with safety in mind.

For example, we choose to use screws which are permanently glued down (with the same stuff they use in cars and airplanes!) despite taking longer to handcraft our products as it is easy to check that they are working properly. We pick screws over another popular option, rivets, which give no warning prior to failing if mis-set - to provide extra peace of mind for you and your dog when setting off for adventure.

Yes! Although not a necessary step with Biothane, we do seal all ends and cuts with a transparent sealant to enhance waterproof protection and prevent fraying.

Cleaning is easy with just quick rinse using water and soap. For tougher stains, use a dish sponge to gently scrub it out of your gear.

We advise against using chemical-based or abrasive products, as they can gradually diminish the color and quality of our products.
